Connecting your first data source

A trigger source is anywhere Aptiro looks for buying signals when it scans an account: funding news, hiring, leadership changes, product launches and the rest. You can see and change which ones are switched on in Settings > Signals > Sources. Each source adds its own credit cost to a scan of an account.

What is on by default

News and web is switched on for every organisation from the start. It searches the web for recent news about an account and needs nothing from you to configure. For most organisations this is enough to get useful signals from the first scan onward.

Sources you can add

YouTube watches a channel for new uploads as a signal source. It needs an account field that holds the channel's URL, so before you can switch it on you choose which of your custom fields carries it (or create one first in Settings > Custom fields). Once that field is mapped, YouTube only contributes signals for the accounts that have a value in it.

Your own webhook lets your own system tell Aptiro about events it sees for an account, on your own schedule rather than waiting for a scan to find them. This is the most involved source to set up, since it means your system has to call Aptiro's API, so it has its own guide: add a webhook trigger source.

Turning the last source off

If you switch off the only source left enabled, Aptiro asks you to confirm first: with nothing enabled, scanning an account finds nothing at all, which is rarely what you want.
